Yesterday ( the 10^th of February )the Alan Titchmarsh show on ITV (network TV for you Americans) sunk to new depths, at 5:00 pm in the afternoon in a slot next to specifically children’s TV he featured a valentines piece about adult toys which featured sex furniture and clitoral pumps as valentines fun.

I know the world, has changed since I was a child, and that the discussion of sex has become a lot more open, but I really do think discussion of such items needs to be on at an appropriate hour and on an appropriate channel.

Alan who gained frame within the UK as a Gardener and horticulture expert, since moving to daytime TV has developed a little bit of a reputation as a dirty old man, A complaint on a websites describes him by saying “I Was only saying last week that I’ve watched a few shows and he seems to have become a bit of a dirty creepy old man always trying to make sordid comments so tonight will be mana from heaven for him.”. Not really what one would expect from a man whom 5 years ago would be described as the housewives favourite.

It is not the first time Alan aged 60 has ventured into this realm and his Sex Guru Julie Peasgood, is a regular on the show, and he regularly seems to be pushing the boundaries of cheeky into dirty.

Last year he was the target of some Wikipedia hackers who claimed that he had made contributions to an updated version of the Karmas Sutra, something which he did deny in the press and many would find hard to believe.

Currently though there have been numbers of complaints about the show there has been no official comments from ITV about the program or the nature of the material made within it. It would hope that in future ITV are responsible enough to place the appropriate material in the appropriate timeslots.
